Mission Statement
Village Collective Inc's mission is to empower 18-24 year-old adults to gain the professional skills they need to secure a meaningful and sustaining career with a family-supporting salary. Through the provision of stable housing in an intentional community, Fellows build financial equity and life skills for successful independent living.
Our Beginning
Village Collective Inc was established with a goal of providing holistic wrap-around care to high school graduates to provide the support and stability needed to attain a post-secondary training credential and successfully launch into their career. The present day ‘Village Collective Inc’ was launched in 2019 as an initiative of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Northeastern Ohio (BHGH). In 2020 and 2021, pilot programming included one home for young women and one for young men who demonstrated a need for supportive housing and reliable transportation while they pursued career training. In 2021 we acquired a vehicle to provide reliable transportation for Fellows and in July 2023, we opened a permanent post-secondary home adjacent to the BHGH campus.
As the vision of Village Collective Inc grew and evolved beyond the scope of BHGH, Village Collective Inc. became a stand-alone organization in May 2024 and received non-profit tax exempt status in July 2024.
Our Future
The next phase of Village Collective Inc will involve independent living in newly constructed housing. This second phase of housing will provide residents the opportunity to build financial equity while focusing on their career and continuing to gain the financial literacy and life skills needed for career success and financial stability.
